Summary
This documentary video of Old Home Day 2005 captures the true spirit and meaning of community as Carlisle celebrated its bi-centennial. Two days of traditional events began with road races, a complimentary pancake breakfast, flag raising ceremonies, a parade and family games on the town green. A frog jumping contest, corn husking baking contests, an art show, country fair, softball, Boy Scout luncheon, soapbox derby races, a dunking tank, radar speed throw, a BBQ, and cakewalk ended the day's activities. In keeping with historical traditions, Carlisle honored its active and reserve military sons & daughters and former residents, many of whom were able to return to meet old friends and share fond memories. The second day began with a family picnic followed by an old fashioned ice cream social. Entertainment was provided by local musicians and concluded with the lighting of 200 candles and 20 minutes of fireworks
